At its May 12 meeting, the Addison City Council officially canvassed the results of the May 2 elections, which saw record voter turnout. Voters approved the $55 million bond proposition to fund new police facilities, with 55.82% voting in favor. Residents also voted for Addison to remain a member of DART, with 70.03% supporting continued participation.
Following certification of the results, Schnell Blanton was sworn in for a first term on the Council, Chris DeFrancisco began a second term, and Darren Gardner began a third and final term.
Also during the meeting, the Council selected Chris DeFrancisco to serve as Mayor Pro Tempore and Darren Gardner as Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore.
