Pedestrian Mobility Improvements Underway

At the January 28 City Council meeting, Public Works & Engineering Director Becky Diviney provided an update on the Town’s ongoing efforts to enhance pedestrian mobility. The Town's ultimate goal is to create a multimodal, safe, and walkable community.

Planned improvements include:

  • Proton Drive at Redding Trail: Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB)
  • Belt Line Road at Beltway Drive: Traffic Signal
  • Addison Road at Sojourn Road: Traffic Signal
  • Addison Road at Belt Line Road: Traffic Signal
  • Vitruvian Area: Pedestrian Improvements
  • Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Projects: Including Belt Line Road at Business Avenue and Arapaho Road at Surveyor Boulevard
  • Citywide Signal Improvements: Enhancements at 23 intersections

The Town uses a variety of pedestrian improvement tools including upgraded lighting, pavement markers, flashing beacons, and advance warning signage to improve walkability throughout the town.  Find a project list here.
