At its June 10 meeting, the Addison City Council approved the installation of two new sculptures along the Beltway Bike Lane corridor. Both are being donated by the Addison Arbor Foundation (AAF), utilizing funds from a Town of Addison grant, adding to the growing collection of public art throughout the town. The Town will maintain the sculptures, with anticipated upkeep costs of $250 per piece every 10 years.
The newly approved Harmony Birds by Dale Rogers is a striking Cor-Ten steel sculpture accented with stainless steel elements. With its playful silhouette of birds in flight, the piece evokes connection and community. Nearby, Eugene Perry’s Continuous Loops brings elegant motion to the trail with bronze loops encircling a polished stainless steel sphere, inviting contemplation and curiosity.
These new additions will be located near pollinator patches being developed as part of the Beltway Bike Lane project. They will be joined by the colorful Blue Butterfly, which the Council approved in April.
