On October 1, 2025, the Town of Addison transitioned its jail services to the City of Richardson. Anyone arrested by the Addison Police Department will now be transported to the Richardson Jail, located at:

This transition follows the Addison City Council’s approval of an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Richardson at its August 26 meeting. Since 2022, Addison has contracted with the City of Grapevine for jail services. While Grapevine has been a valued partner, the 22-mile distance created operational challenges, including longer transport times and increased officer downtime.
Richardson was selected after staff reviewed alternatives, citing its proximity, operational efficiency, and extensive experience providing jail services to other cities. The agreement includes an initial five-year term with an automatic five-year renewal.
