DART President & CEO Nadine Lee, DART Board Chair Gary Slagel, and DART Board Administration Committee Chair Mark Enoch provided the City Council with an update on governance and service initiatives at its February 11 meeting.

DART, which receives most of its funding from a one-cent sales tax collected from member cities, has been engaged in ongoing discussions about preserving this funding. DART leaders emphasized to the Council their commitment to supporting member cities by funding services such as circulators and expanded GoLink programs, as well as participating in economic development efforts. In Addison, Town staff has been working with DART to develop concepts and cost estimates for both a circulator and GoLink service. They are also collaborating with Addison on the Town's transit-oriented development project around the new rail station to allow developers to leverage the DART property.
