At its September 23 meeting, the Addison City Council directed staff to move forward with creating a Bond Advisory Committee to review the proposed new construction or renovation of the Police and Courts facility. Over the last several years, the Town has evaluated facility needs, with a new Police and Courts facility identified as a priority.

The committee will be made up of 14 residents who will meet three to four times between October and January. Its role will be to review facility options, construction costs, and funding needs, and then make a recommendation to Council in early January 2026. That recommendation will help inform the Council’s decision on whether to call a bond election for May 2026, when voters could consider a single proposition to fund the project.

Committee meetings are tentatively scheduled for:

  • Thursday, Oct. 30
  • Thursday, Nov. 20
  • Thursday, Dec. 4
  • Thursday, Jan. 8

Applications to serve on the Bond Advisory Committee opened on Wednesday, September 24, and are available here. The deadline to apply is October 7. The Council will consider appointments at its October 14 meeting.
