At the July 8 City Council meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Janna Tidwell provided an update on the new bike facilities along Westgrove Drive and Quorum Drive. Backed by more than $6.1 million in federal funding and a $1.5 million local match, the revised plan incorporates community feedback. It features sharrows near Addison Circle instead of a dedicated bike lane, preserving two lanes of traffic and parking in front of nearby retailers. Additional elements include a separated bike lane in limited areas, enhanced lighting, and upgraded crosswalks. The Council will consider a professional services agreement later this summer to advance design and environmental studies.
