On Thursday, April 2, at the request of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will occur between 10am and 12:30pm. As part of this drill, local jurisdictions across Texas may test systems used to notify the public during emergencies.This will only be a test. No emergency action is required.

On July 22, the City Council approved a Special Use Permit for Graduate America to open a Workforce Readiness Hub at 3939 Belt Line Road, Suites 540 and 550.
This innovative education center is not a traditional school. It will offer hybrid, high-impact training programs for adult learners, veterans, and low-income residents. Programs will focus on licensed vocational nursing, allied health, IT support and cybersecurity, beauty and barbering, and business and entrepreneurship.
Graduate America operates campuses in Garland and Houston, as well as in Lincoln, NE, and is licensed and accredited by multiple state and national bodies. The Addison location will operate seven days a week with small cohort-based classes, designed to support working adults.
