At its September 23 meeting, the Addison City Council approved the installation of a new mosaic art piece, donated by the Addison Arbor Foundation (AAF), at Les Lacs Pond. Created by artist Rachel Rodi, the original three-panel design will showcase pollinators and native plants, with panels representing spring, summer, and late summer blooms.
The mosaic will be installed on the masonry wall constructed as part of the Les Lacs Pond Phase II project. The wall is 50 feet wide, rising 6 feet at the center and tapering to 4 feet at the ends, providing a striking canvas for the artwork. Installation is scheduled for late 2025.
The $35,805 project will be fully funded by AAF through a grant approved in the FY2025–26 Budget, with ongoing maintenance supported by the Parks Department. This colorful addition will enhance the park while celebrating Addison’s native landscapes and commitment to public art.
