Council Approves Expanded Scope for Montfort Drive Reconstruction Project

Addison City Council approved Change Order #2 to the professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for the Montfort Drive Reconstruction Project. The $576,500 change order increases the total design contract to $1.66 million and incorporates additional design services to extend the project limits north to Celestial Road, following a boundary adjustment agreement with the City of Dallas.

The expanded scope now includes:

• Updated roadway, drainage, and storm drain improvements.
• Replacement of 850 linear feet of Town water line.
• Permanent traffic signals at Paladium Drive and Celestial Road.
• Landscape, irrigation, and enhanced streetscape features.
• Lighting design and underground conduit for future monument signage.

Montfort Drive was identified as a critical infrastructure need, with voters approving funding in 2019. With the new project limits, the total project estimate is approximately $15.6 million, supported through 2019 Bond funding and State Infrastructure Bank financing.

Final design is scheduled for completion in 2026, with construction anticipated in 2027.
