At the April 8 Council Meeting, staff and consultants from Woolpert presented an overview of the Addison Airport Master Plan Update. This federally required process helps guide the airport’s long-term development and operational priorities. The last plan was completed in 2016.
The update is funded by a $1.05 million FAA grant administered by TxDOT Aviation, with a 10% match contributed by the Airport Fund. Woolpert was selected to lead the effort through a TxDOT-led competitive process.
Public involvement is a key component of the plan. Two committees have been formed to guide the process: an Executive Committee and a Project Steering Committee (PSC) composed of airport users and community stakeholders appointed by the City Council. The PSC held its first meeting on April 8 to begin shaping the vision for Addison Airport’s future. There will be three community meetings scheduled over the course of the 18-month project. to get additional public input. You can learn more on the project website at addisonairportmasterplan.com.
