Council Approves Final Design Agreement for Airport Parkway Project
Published on June 02, 2026
City Council approved a resolution at its May 26 meeting authorizing an agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. for final design services for the Airport Parkway Project in an amount not to exceed $392,200.
The project will reconstruct and improve Airport Parkway from Addison Road to Dallas Parkway and includes full roadway reconstruction, utility upgrades, new traffic signals at Quorum Drive, improved landscaping and streetscape elements, a continuous turn lane, and ADA and pedestrian improvements.
The Airport Parkway Project was originally approved by voters as part of the 2019 bond election and paused at the 90% design stage to allow nearby Keller Springs Road construction to advance. The final design phase will update plans to reflect new development along the corridor, revised Town drainage and construction standards, and preparation of the final bid package for construction procurement.
As the project’s Engineer of Record, Jacobs Engineering Group will also provide construction review and coordination services during the construction phase, including reviewing contractor submittals, responding to requests for information, assisting with change orders, and supporting project closeout activities.
Funding for the project includes State Infrastructure Bank funds, 2019 bond proceeds, Dallas County MCIP funds, interest earnings, and proceeds from the Midway Road project. Work on this project will not begin until Keller Springs is substantially complete.
