During its May 26 work session, the City Council discussed the future of mobility and microtransit services in Addison following voters’ decision to remain a member of DART. Finding a first-mile/last-mile mobility solution has been part of the Town’s Strategic Plan since 2020 to support connectivity and Silver Line access.
Council discussed the Addison Orbit pilot program and its impacts on the community. Following the discussion, Council directed staff to continue the pilot through mid-October while continuing discussions with DART on future partnership options. This includes evaluating ways to refine DART’s GoLink service based on feedback gathered during the Orbit pilot or identifying opportunities for DART to support continued Orbit service.
