Sustainable Initiatives

Going Green

Addison is GREEN! In addition to our hybrid electrical vehicles, we are looking at numerous ways to reduce our ecological footprint. All new buildings and upgrades will meet sustainable standards where applicable. And, we were one of the first to adopt the Clean Air Policy of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. 

Facilities

• Use of Low-E replacement windows
• Replace heating and air conditioning units with higher SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating)
• Use of compact fluorescent bulbs
• Use of low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and recyclable products (i.e. paints, carpet)
• Use of roofing materials that meet Energy Star and LEED reflectance performance requirements (as seen on our Addison Theatre Centre)

Fleet

• Use of hybrid vehicle technology
• Clean Fleet Policy - Vehicle Idling Policy
• Shop: "Nothing down the drain" Policy
• Use of coolant and refrigerant recovery systems
