Residential Rapid Entry System
The Town of Addison participates in a residential rapid entry system that helps firefighters and police officers quickly access your home during an emergency without forcing entry and causing property damage. A residential rapid entry device is a secure exterior key box installed at your home that stores a single house key for first responders to use in an emergency.
All Addison fire engines and police supervisors carry master keys that allow them to access registered residential rapid entry devices in the Town of Addison. This ensures that emergency personnel can reach you as quickly and safely as possible when every second counts.
What is a Residential Rapid Entry Device?
A residential rapid entry device is designed to hold a single house key that firefighters and police officers can access during emergencies, such as:
- Medical emergencies
- Fires
- Natural disasters
By using a residential rapid entry system, emergency personnel can enter your home quickly while helping prevent the damage that often occurs during forced entry.
