Addison held an election in November 2019 for residents to consider 5 propositions ranging from roads to park improvements.  All 5 propositions were approved.

Proposition A

East/West Roads (Keller Springs Road/Airport Parkway):  $22,300,000

Projected Impact on Annual Tax Rate: $0.0353

1. Reconstruction of Keller Springs Road from Dallas North Tollway to Addison Road:  $12,900,00
  • Keller Springs Road was built in 1979
  • Current Pavement Condition Index based on Addison’s Pavement Condition Index:  Very Poor
  • Replace asphalt roadway with concrete 
  • Upsize existing utilities
  • Install Master Transportation Plan elements
    • Median (none currently exists)
    • 6-foot sidewalks (current sidewalk is four to five feet)
    • 5-foot parkway buffer between the street and the sidewalk(there is currently no buffer between the street and thesidewalk)
  • Acquire right-of-way for medians, sidewalks, and landscaping
  • Replace traffic signal
2. Reconstruction of Airport Parkway from Dallas North Tollway to Addison Road:  $9,400,000
  • Airport Parkway was built in 1978
  • Asset Management Risk Score based on Addison’s Asset Management Plan: Red
  • Current Pavement Condition Index based on Addison's Pavement Condition Index: Very Poor
  • Replace asphalt roadway with concrete roadway
  • Upsize existing utilities
  • Install Master Transportation Plan elements
  • 12-foot turn lane (currently there are no turn lanes)
  • 8-foot parallel parking (no on-street parking currently exists)
  • 8-foot sidewalks with 6-foot parkway buffer with tree wells (currently sidewalks are inconsistent through the corridor)
  • Acquire right-of-way for medians, sidewalks, and landscaping

Proposition B

North/South Roads (Quorum Drive/Montfort Drive): $33,602,000

Projected Impact on Annual Tax Rate: $0.0450

1. Reconstruction of Quorum Drive from Dallas North Tollway to DART rail right-of-way:  $26,302,000
  • Built in 1980 and 1985
  • Current Pavement Condition Index based on Addison’s Pavement Condition Index: Fair
  • Rebuild concrete roadway
  • Upsize existing utilities
  • Install Master Transportation Plan elements including:
    • South of Belt Line, sidewalks will be 8-foot wide with a 6-foot parkway buffer
    • North of Belt Line, sidewalks will be 15 foot back of curb
  • Acquire right-of-way for medians, sidewalks, and landscaping
  • Replace 3 traffic signals
2.  Reconstruction of Montfort Drive from BeltLine Road to the Addison city limits:  $7,300,000
  • Built in 1981
  • Asset Management Risk Score based on Addison’s Asset Management Plan: Red
  • Current Pavement Condition Index based on Addison’s Pavement Condition Index: Very Poor
  • Rebuild concrete roadway
  • Upsize existing utilities
  • Install Master Transportation Plan elements including:
    • Widening the median
    • Almost doubling the sidewalk width to 8 feet
    • Adding a 6-foot parkway buffer
  • Acquire right-of-way for medians, sidewalks, and landscaping

Park, OpenSpace, and Recreation Facilities:  $6,723,000

1.   Athletic Club Improvements:  $3,028,167
  • Locker Room Improvements: $1,556,035
  • Gymnasium and Track Improvements: $462,679
  • Pool Modernization: $1,009,453
2.  Les Lacs Pond Improvements:  $3,282,110
  • Replacement of pond liner
  • ADA improvements
  • Lake edge that is a combination of natural, concrete and stoneedges,
  • Landscape beds and rain garden
  • Retaining walls
  • Fountain lights, and tree up-lights
3.  Trail Rehabilitation, Expansion, and Addition of Wayfinding Elements: $412,725
  • Wayfinding and distance markers on Redding, Arapaho, Les Lacs, White Rock Creek and Beltway Trails
  • Refurbish Redding Linear Trail: replace deteriorating wood retaining walls, address ADA issues, and improve drainage
  • Extend Redding Linear Trail to future trail along Midway Road
  • Add pedestrian way stop at Les Lacs Park and Belt Line Road
  • Add shaded outdoor fitness station adjacent to Les Lacs Park

Buildings: Existing Municipal Buildings:  $7,395,000

1. Improvements Needed to Address Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance:  $1,500,000
2. Roof Replacements:  $4,000,000
