Resolution No. R25-039 adopted by City Council on April 22nd, 2025 approves the demolition and reconstruction of Jimmy Doolittle Drive. The Jimmy Doolittle Reconstruction Project involves the full reconstruction of Jimmy Doolittle Drive, including its adjacent driveways. The scope of work also includes drainage improvements and the installation of a new waterline.

Status Updates
July 17, 2025
The contractor has completed the bore for the connection to the existing 8" water line. Installation of the new water line is currently underway along the north side of Jimmy Doolittle Drive.
July 11, 2025
The Contractor has started construction of the new 8” waterline this week, including a driveway cut to install the line, and anticipates the bore to connect to the existing 8" waterline to be completed the week of July 14th.
June 9, 2025
The Jimmy Doolittle Reconstruction Project is currently underway, with Phase 1 focused on the installation of a new water line. Prior to the start of construction, line locates were completed to ensure safe and accurate utility work. As part of the traffic management plan, two temporary traffic signals were installed to improve traffic control and maintain flow during construction. The project is progressing according to schedule and continues to prioritize safety and minimal disruption to the public.
May 22, 2025
The Town's Public Work and Engineering Department held a pre-construction meeting with the contractor, McMahon Contracting, along with the design engineer and representatives from the material testing services team to kick off the project for the entrance into the Airport. Following the meeting, the Town issued the official Notice to Proceed to the contractor.
April 22, 2025
City Council approved an agreement between the Town of Addison and McMahon Contracting, LP for construction services for the Jimmy Doolittle Reconstruction Project.
The Preconstruction meeting is scheduled for May, 19th.
November 8, 2022
City Council approved an agreement between the Town of Addison and Garver for design services for the Jimmy Doolittle Reconstruction Project.
