Addison Athletic Club Outdoor Pool Renovation – Project Update

We’re excited to share the latest progress on the Addison Athletic Club Outdoor Pool Renovation Project!

1. Final design completed
The final design for the outdoor pool renovation was completed in August 2025, establishing the vision and scope for the project.

2. Bid phase completed
The bid phase concluded in October 2025, allowing the Town to evaluate proposals and prepare for the next steps.

3. Contract award anticipated
The contract award is anticipated in February 2026, following final review and approvals.

4. Construction phase upcoming
Construction is scheduled to take place from February 2026 through April 2026. Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses.

Final design is expected to be completed by August of 2025. 

Justification: 

The existing men’s and women’s restrooms adjacent to the outdoor pool were not originally designed with family-friendly use in mind and have become increasingly unpleasant due to significant wear and deterioration. Since the outdoor pool opened in 2003, these restrooms have not undergone any major renovations or upgrades.

The proposed renovation will modernize the facilities to provide a more comfortable and functional space for parents with children, while also helping to alleviate congestion in the recently renovated indoor restrooms.

In addition, safety concerns have grown regarding unauthorized nighttime entry due to the age and original construction materials of the steel picket perimeter fence. Certain sections of the perimeter wall also present security risks where adjacent exterior steps create opportunities for unwanted intrusion. To address these issues, the project will include installation of a new reinforced steel picket security fence and the addition of short fencing extensions to the top of the perimeter wall.

This project aligns with the Town Council’s Key Focus Areas of Infrastructure Development and Maintenance and Vibrant, Active Community.

Project Budget 

Established Project Budget for the Addison Athletic Club Outdoor Pool Restroom Renovations: $330,00.00

Design: $49,500 (Brohard Architecture)

The Town will be renovating the restrooms located next to the outdoor pool at the Addison Athletic Club. The project will update both the men’s and women’s restrooms to improve functionality and appearance. Renovation work will include new flooring, updated lighting, refreshed wall tiles, modern sinks and shower components, new mirrors, and upgraded hand dryers. Existing toilet partitions will be replaced, and new restroom and room signage will be installed. Additionally, new restroom doors and frames will be provided at each entrance, along with extra exhaust fans to improve ventilation. These updates will enhance comfort and accessibility for all residents and visitors using the facility. The project supports Council's key focus areas of Infrastructure Development, maintenance, and a vibrant community.
