Hutton Branch Outfall

Following inspections conducted by town staff, potential structural issues necessitating repair were identified at the outfall location at 16304 Midway Road. Collaborating with Garver Engineering, the Town conducted an assessment of the outfall and received recommendations for necessary repairs. A decision package was then prepared and submitted during the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) budget process, securing approval for the proposed improvements.


Status Updates

October 2024:

The hydro mulch and sod is taking nicely on the sloped areas of the drainage channel with the temporary irrigation watering it daily. The railing on the south end of the drainage channel has been welded repaired and has a new coat of paint. Town staff and the engineer on the project are expected to do a walkthrough in the next week to do a preliminary punch list walk of the project.

July 2024:

Construction is anticipated to start in August 2024.

July 2024:

Pre-Construction meeting scheduled with the Town of Addison, Design Engineer, and the Contractor.

June 2024:

Council has approved the Construction Contract Agreement with Joel Brown & Co. LLC.

April 2024:

The initial construction phase for these improvements involves soil stabilization through foam injection beneath the sloped concrete channel structures. This phase will address soil instability, curbing further erosion underneath the concrete slopes, thereby ensuring the structural integrity of the outfall. This phase is completed.
