Town of Addison Recycling and Trash Collection

TRASH COLLECTION IS EVERY MONDAY AND THURSDAY.  RECYCLE EVERY MONDAY. The Town of Addison contracts with Waste Management for recycling services. Curbside Recycling Curbside recycling is provided for all single-family residences in Addison every Monday.

Place loose in green bin or stack in bags on top of, or beside bin. If it looks like rain, save for next week. Wet paper CANNOT be recycled.

Junk mail, cardboard, food and beverage boxes, or other paper products.

PLASTIC BOTTLES

(Food and beverage bottles marked with #'s 1-7 are accepted) 

Rinse and remove the lids, place in your green bin. Bottles may be crushed to conserve space.

Plastic wrap, plastic bags, plastic toys, or other types of plastic bottles such as those used for automotive or other hazardous materials.

ALUMINUM AND METAL CANS

(Food and beverage cans, empty aerosol cans)

Rinse and place in green bin. It is helpful if you remove the paper labels.

Scrap metal, paint cans, automotive product cans, pie tins, or disposable aluminum plates.

GLASS BOTTLES

(Clear, brown and green glass food and beverage bottles.

Rinse and remove the lids. Place in green bin. It is helpful if you remove the paper labels.

Light bulbs, plate glass, auto Light bulbs, auto glass, tempered glass, mirrors, ceramics or any glass that is not a food or beverage bottle.

Recycling Containers

The Town of Addison provides green bins to its residents for recycling. Bins can be obtained by contacting Waste Management at (972) 316-2200 or The Town of Addison Public Works Department at (972) 450-2840.

Recycling Schedule: Residents

Residents who participate in The Town of Addison's recycling program should place all recyclable materials in the green bin and place at the curb by 7:00 A.M. every Monday. All recyclables can be commingled together in the green bin. On windy days, please place a brick or board on top of the bin to keep your neighborhood litter-free.

Household Hazardous Items

Batteries, anti-freeze, oil filters, pool chemicals, paint, etc. can be disposed of by calling the Town of Addison Public Works at 972-450-2871, to schedule a special curbside pick up. Note: If you allow the paint to evaporate, you may include paint cans in your regular weekly trash.

Apartment Recycling

The Town of Addison currently has a recycling program available to apartment complexes. This program consists of placing the appropriate number of recycling collection containers at a central location in each complex. Rates are generally less than $1.00 per unit, per month. Apartment residents seeking this service should have their apartment complex manager contact the Town of Addison Public Works Department at (972) 450-2840.
