Slade Strickland, Director of Parks & Recreation

Slade Strickland is the Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Addison and is a Past-President of the Addison Arbor Foundation.  He began his career with Addison in 1982 as the City Horticulturist. Slade's responsibilities include administering the town's park, boulevard and green belt development and open space beautification programs, as well as, fitness and recreation programs.  He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1981, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Design and Urban Horticulture.

Memberships/Associations: Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP); Texas Licensed Irrigator; Texas Certified Landscape Professional, Certified Toastmaster (CTM); Member - National Recreation and Parks Association, Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS); Texas Municipal Parks, Recreation and Tourism Association (TMPRTA) and Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA).

During his tenure as the Director of Parks and Recreation, the Town has been recognized for award winning parks and recreation facilities, which include:
