The Addison Way is our way of doing things that takes service to a level above normal expectations.  You'll see it in the personal, prompt, and courteous attention we pay to all aspects of our jobs.  Whether you work, live, or play in Addison, you will know you are someplace special because of our Addison Way.

Employee Development
We start by hiring good people and then providing tools and training to turn them into great employees.  Each department provides training for advancement in the organization and for enriching present jobs.  A tuition reimbursement program provides reimbursement for college credit classes taken at accredited colleges or universities after an employee has passed a six month probationary period.

Community Involvement
Customer Service is more than a phrase in our mission statement.  Commitment to service plays a big factor in our hiring process, and is encouraged throughout an employee's career.    This spirit spills over to our community.  When a whole town of caring people gets together, great things happen.  Just a few examples:


Work/Life Balance

Addison offers many opportunities to balance work and life.

  • An Employee Action Committee (EAC) organizes activities such as employee parties and family picnics, outings to sporting and cultural events, lunch & learns, and more
  • A wellness program - the Addison Health Information Team (A-HIT) - provides education and fun activities to promote healthy living for employees and their families.  Employees also get the benefit of using the state of the art Addison Athletic Club.
  • Addison is a member of the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts (NTCBA) which promotes our annual employee art show - On My Own Time
  • An Employee Assistance Program provides confidential consultations, information and referrals to employees and family members experiencing personal difficulties or concerns

Benefits Summary

  • The Town pays 100% of insurance premiums for employees and half of the additional premiums for covered dependents.  Coverage begins on date of hire.
  • The Town participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).  Employees contribute 7% of gross income, tax deferred.  Upon retirement, the Town matches contributions and interest earned at a rate of two to one.
  • Employees earn two weeks of vacation after one year of service.  In addition, 8 holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas and the day before or after Christmas.
