Mobile Meals

Addison Employees Deliver Mobile Meals Through Senior Adult Services Addison employees have worked with Senior Adult Services, which provide services to seniors in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell and Farmers Branch, for several years. With the Mobile Meals program, employees take time from their busy days to deliver meals to home-bound seniors in the area. Some employees have regular routes, and others fill in when needed as substitutes.

 Gilbert Flores and Oscar Martinez are two of our employees from the Parks Department who have been delivering meals on a regular basis for the last three years. At least once a month, they pick up meals from the Senior Adult Services and deliver on a route of about 7 recipients throughout Carrollton and Farmers Branch. They know that the hot meal is very welcome, but equally important is their time and conversations with the seniors. They enjoy having the set route because they get to know their seniors. Oscar and Gilbert report that often the recipient is dressed up and waiting for their visit, sometimes eager to eat, and often eager just to talk to someone.

Gilbert and Oscar are examples of the Addison employees who volunteer for the Mobile Meals delivery and we are very proud and appreciative of all of them.
