Holiday Gift Baskets for Local Seniors
 | Since 2005, Addison employees have participated in the Metrocrest Social Services Holiday Gift Basket program. This program provides welcome necessities, as well as little niceties to lift the spirits of some of their neediest clients, many of whom have no family support. The Town employees adopted 5 seniors from their client list. We divided our employees into 5 groups to each concentrate on one of the seniors. After getting information from Senior Adult Services about their clients' particular circumstances, the Town employees started collecting food and gift items, as well as money for gift certificates for their adopted senior. Depending on the senior's needs, we were able to provide food items, household cleaning items, paper products, pharmacy items, clothing, and gift certificates. When we learned that some of our seniors were also caring for disabled adult children or grandchildren, our employees pitched in with additional gifts for them also. We were even able to help out with some items for cherished pets! |
| To make this even more meaningful, we had the opportunity to deliver the baskets personally. It was rewarding to see how our contributions made such a difference in the lives of these very appreciative individuals. |  |
