The Purchasing office is a unit of the Town of Addison Department of Financial and Strategic Services and is responsible for researching and obtaining the best value products to meet the needs of the city government.
Bid Information
The Town of Addison does not maintain a persistent vendor list: everything is done on a bid-by-bid basis. The best way to do business with us is to register for Bidsync.com. The Town is a “free buyer” so prospective bidders, plan rooms, and interested third parties may obtain all information free of charge. We also advertise all bids in print through the Dallas Morning News. Prospective vendors do not need to notify us of intent to bid.
City Auctions
Per state regulations, the Town of Addison must auction off surplus items whose replaceable value is greater than $100. Generally, these items are stocked in a storeroom until there is sufficient material to warrant an auction. Typically there are two auctions a year. All auctions are posted and coordinated on http://www.renebates.com/.
Auction Guidelines
- The Town of Addison does not provide transportation or loading services for buyers to remove merchandise
- Any and all methods of lifting, towing, and hauling are the buyer's responsibility
- Buyers should have the appropriate transportation, equipment, and manpower to pick up items
- The ownership of any and all items not removed by the final day of removal will revert back to the Town of Addison and the Town may resell or dispose of the items as it sees fit
- Items listed in the auction are used and may contain defects that are not immediately detectable
- Text descriptions given are meant to be used as a guide only
- Bidders are responsible for inspecting items before bidding
- All information provided is believed to be correct but no warranty as such is either intended or implied
- All items are sold as is - where is and with all faults and defects therein
