Dennis Kraft was first elected to the City Council in May 2005.  Dennis has been a resident of Addison for over a decade.  He is a graduate of the Addison Citizen Academy and has participated on numerous civic committees.  He is the Council liaison to the Dallas and the North Dallas Chambers of Commerce and the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, and has also served as Council representative to the Citizens Advisory Committees for Business Development, Education, Performing and Visual Arts, and Recreation and Community Facilities.

Dennis is a lawyer in a private practice focused on providing advice and assistance to small businesses.  He was a founding partner of Hanthorn & Kraft, LLP, a local law firm.  During an extensive prior corporate career, he held the position of General Counsel (the Americas) for SITA, an international data communications carrier, General Counsel of Alcatel USA, a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, and Assistant General Counsel of Rockwell International providing oversight to Rockwell's Electronic Operations.

Dennis earned a JD degree (with Honors) from the University of Maryland.  In addition to his legal credentials, he holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Dennis is married to Mary Ellen and they have two children and two grandchildren.
