Meet and Greet for Police Chief Candidates is Tuesday, May 7

Please join us for a Community Meet and Greet with the finalists for Addison Police Chief on Tuesday, May 7 from 5:30 – 7pm at the Addison Conference Centre. Your input is an important part of this process. Below are the four candidates being considered for the position:

Christopher Freis

Chris Freis currently serves as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Duncanville Police Department. Throughout his law enforcement career, he served the city as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Leader, Use-of-Force Instructor, and Department Firearms Instructor. Wendell Mitchell

Assistant Chief Wendell Mitchell currently serves the Town of Flower Mound, the third-largest department in Denton County. With 30 years of law enforcement experience, he has served as the Assistant Police Chief in Flower Mound since 2011. He has led all aspects of the Flower Mound Police Department and served in various functions, including criminal investigations, patrol, professional standards, SWAT, crime prevention, and community services. Carol Riddle

Carol Riddle is a police executive with 24 years of law enforcement experience and a licensed Texas Master Peace Officer. She began her public safety career in January 2000 with the Arlington Police Department, honorably serving for 21.5 years. In 2021, Carol was appointed the Assistant Chief of Police for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and most recently served as the Chief of Police. Read more.

Mike Vincent

Addison Interim Police Chief Mike Vincent has served the Addison Police Department (APD) for nearly 20 years. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas A&M University, Chief Vincent began his career in policing at APD where he gained progressive leadership experience, rising through the ranks as an officer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and assistant chief.
